January 2017 turned out to be a pretty wild ride. So far this year, I lost a co-worker unexpectedly, wrote a final exam (got an A+ in the course), took possession of my condo, renovated my condo, moved in to my condo, had a scare with my step-dad’s health, and had my car act up “again”. Through it all, my anxiety only gave me grief near the end. Not bad — not bad at all.
It’s hump day, and the first day of the second month of 2017. I see reason for celebration here. Who am I kidding, I see reason for celebration every day… and by celebration, I mean wine. Anyway, I just took a look at my calendar for the month, and it’s already pretty full. Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment; see my previous post Strange Loves to find out what that means to me. Call me crazy — you wouldn’t be the first. Saturday, my new stove is being picked up, and I will be painting up a storm. The following Saturday, I will be travelling with many of my coworkers to attend the celebration of life for our lost friend. His family has decided to hold the ceremony in original home town — 3 hours away.
Yesterday, I signed up for the next course in the program I’m taking. My work agreed to pay for a university program that I wanted to enroll in last year. There are six courses in the program, and this will be number three. Once I receive the books by mail, I will be spending much of my spare time studying.
Last but not least, I’m putting in a half-assed effort to meet a man. Tomorrow after teaching my fitness class, I’m meeting up with a guy who is moving to town at the end of the month. He is moving here for a job as a head soccer coach. I had no idea that was a paying gig; learned something new.
Tonight I’m heading to the mall to pick up new runners. Mine are DONE. My legs were completely toast after my run last night — that’s my tell that it’s time for new shoes. With the amount of running and working out I do, I go through a pair of $200 runners every 3 months. If I gave up exercise, I could probably afford to buy a new car… that, however, would never happen.
What a string of non-sense chatter. If you’re still reading, I apologize for the randomness of this post. On that note, time to wrap this up and say good-evening. HAPPY HUMP DAY!
Very well done on a 2017 full of both activity & achievement so far… inspiring stuff for those of us with not quite as many strings to their bow* [!]
I’d love to start running again myself: you’re the 2nd blogger I know who does it.
Anyway, enjoy the wine. 😉
* Not sure if that’s just a British expression?

The date I wrote about was not for me; however, I had a date with a guy on Sat, who I saw again on Sunday, and who I will see again this Wed. So that went well.
