Childhood Memory

Image result for Childhood memory

What takes me back to yesterday;

but a memory from the past.

Playing nicky nicky nine doors;

wishing summer nights would last.

Imaginary play mates;

I had forgotten all about.

Time travels much too quickly;

for that I have no doubt.

Fast forward to the present;

so much in life has changed.

The child I once remember;

So distant and so strange.

I’ve grown to be a woman;

My life has turned out fine.

I’m thankful for the memory;

But it’s time to pour some wine.

Thanks to a dear friend from across the pond for some much needed inspiration.
