It takes some time to shake the holidays off yourself at the start of a new year. The fun and games are over, and it’s time to get back to the serious business of living. YUP — cork the wine box ladies and gentlemen… there’s work to be done.
In my case, I still have to finalize the purchase of my condo, study for an upcoming final exam, arrange some friends to help me move (again), and detox my system from too much holiday cheer. YEAH 2017… you already overwhelm me!!! I’m overwhelmed, but not too anxious; at least not so far. My anxiety has been pretty good the last little while. EXCEPT for the lack of sleep I’m getting in my rental, I feel fairly grounded.
Time off from work seems to do that for me. If not working was an option, I see no reason why I wouldn’t take it. I would find things to keep me busy such as running, shopping, cooking, reading, shopping, and wine tasting — he he; OK I’d do more than taste is. Unfortunately, Santa did not leave me unlimited amounts of money under my tree, so here I am; back at my desk; living the dream. Hurray for dreams!
January is going to be a busy, stressful, and hopefully exciting month. There is so much to do, but by the end of the month, I should be able to sit back and take a breath. I will be living in my newly renovated home with the past couple months finally behind me. I’m keeping that vision in my head as I march forward into 2017. ONE day at a time.
For anyone following, I can’t give an update on my New Years Date. I gave him the link to my blog, and it’s too soon to let him know what I think ;)-
Here’s to the end (almost) of my first day back to work — I’ll drink to that.
